The connection with USM began in 1966 at the Valparaíso campus when he was recruited as an art teacher in the Industrial Design program, a position he held until the end of 1974.
In 1972, he painted ‘After the Shadow, the Light’ and ‘The Light of Knowledge’ for the hall of Valparaiso’s Central House. (Photography one and two, respectively). In the same year, he painted ‘The World of Communications’ mural for this university’s radio station (Photography 3).
In 1977, he painted the mural ‘José Miguel Carrera’ for the campus in Viña del Mar, which was inaugurated in October of that year. (Photography 4)
Having established residence in Concepción by 1979, he received a commission to create a mural entitled ‘Towards the Light of Knowledge’ for the Rey Balduino campus in Talcahuano, where the original location was the library.
